Preparing to write the PMP or CAPM exam? Need some guidance/support or perhaps short of the required educational hours. Our 11 weeks of structured preparation (11 Tuesday evenings over 12 weeks duration) for writing the Project Management Institute's PMP and CAPM Certification Exams is for you.
Who should attend?
The PMP/CAPM Study Group is intended for individuals who are preparing to write the PMP or CAPM certification examination. This series is very specifically targeted to the PMP and CAPM examinations. If you are interested in learning how to better manage projects, please view our other programs (e.g. Lunch ’n Learns, Dinner meetings)
What's the structure of the study group?
The interactive study group format provides participants with hands-on experience on all the PMBOK® Guide, 5th Edition concepts, including comprehensive learning activities on each of the 47 project management processes. Its purpose is to provide a framework to assist participants in their individual self-study preparation.
Each session is facilitated by a certified Project Management Professional following established guidelines for the series. Our study group facilitators use their knowledge of the process of studying and passing the PMP exam as well as how people learn to create an active environment that embraces participants’ prior knowledge and learning styles. They engage participants in taking charge of their learning. Our facilitators are the “guide by the side” encouraging the sharing of knowledge by and with participants.
Participants will be provided with a paper copy of the PMPBOK® Guide, 5th Edition and a Student Course ware bundle as part of their registration fee. All material that is presented is consistent with and supports current PMI published standards.
The final session is a Readiness Assessment – a 200 question full practice exam. Following completion you will receive a report that gives your overall score and a breakdown by PMBoK process areas. This will advise you as to whether you are likely to pass the exam immediately or need additional self-study.
Will this study group satisfy my contact hours requirement?
If you register and attend at least 10 of the study sessions, you will satisfy the 35 contact-hour requirement to qualify to write the PMP exam. Similarly if you register and attend at least 7 of the study sessions, you will satisfy the 23 contact-hour requirement to qualify to write the CAPM exam. However we highly recommend you attend all sessions to improve your preparedness for writing your PMP/CAPM exam!
