An adventure - Hike Cape Split With Us!

Business Acumen

Rain Date: October 1

Meet up: Trail Head/Parking Lot

Your Volunteer: Sara Jerrett

Experience the natural wonder of the Bay of Fundy from the dramatic cliffs of Cape Split. Hike through mixed forests to lookoffs with stunning views of the tide-swept coastline. At the peninsula tip, the trail opens into a meadow revealing iconic sea stacks and basalt pinnacles carved by the power of the world’s highest tides.

Cape Split Provincial Park is the most ecologically intact portion of the North Mountain, a ridge of basalt that defines the northern border of the Annapolis Valley. This 450-hectare area was designated a Provincial Park in 2019 and protects cultural sites of significance to the Mi’kmaq and natural wonders of rare plants and old-growth forest.

Trail Details:
  • 13.2km of looped trail through old-growth and coastal conifer forests with spectacular panoramic views of the Minas Basin and Scots Bay.
  • Trail is open year-round from dawn to dusk. Vault toilet facilities are open seasonally, mid-May to mid-October.
  • Hikers should plan 4-6 daylight hours to complete the trail and prepare for quickly changing weather along the coast. It is recommended to carry plenty of drinking water, wear sturdy footwear and layered clothing.
  • Trail users may encounter wet/muddy conditions and are asked to stay on the designated trails.
  • Please follow pack-in/pack-out principles while enjoying the park.
