Join PMI NS and Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS) members for a panel discussion regarding their experience with immigration to Nova Scotia.

Javier Ojeda
Mechanical Engineer, PEng, PMP, CEM, REP

Javier is a mechanical engineer, originally from Venezuela, who arrived in Nova Scotia with his family in 2015. Just 2 weeks after he arrived, he joined the PMI NS chapter, and went to a networking event to connect with local professionals. He has been working in NS and in NL in the renewable energy industry (hydropower) and currently runs his own consulting firm. He loves bicycles and motorcycles, and enjoys a good ride in the woods and the highway.

Jazmin Caloca
 

Jazmin has an international background in engineering and IT. She moved from Mexico to Halifax in 2021.  She has worked in the Telecommunications industry and banking for many years and currently works for the Project Management Office for Information Technology Services at Dalhousie University. She loves helping the youth to fulfill their dreams by providing the latest technology at Dal.

Kena Osemwekha

Kena is a Senior Policy Analyst and a certified Project Management Professional with over 8 years experience supporting governments and multinational donors to make policies and manage health interventions. Originally from Nigeria, he arrived in Halifax NS with his family in May 2022. In July 2022, he joined the PMI NS chapter, and carried on connecting with local professionals in the community. He also endeavored to attend networking events to strengthen his connections. His working experiences in Nova Scotia cut across providing project management expertise in administration of a federal grant for grassroot black focused, black led, and black serving (B3) pan-Canadian non-profit organisations as well as in the recent, supporting the NS provincial government in developing and refining health policies. He loves spending time with his family, watching soccer, listening to music, news, and current affairs.
