Mbongeni (Bo) Ndlovu

Instructor, DNS Microcredential of AI in Project Manangement - StFX

My name is Mbongeni Ndlovu, but most people call me Bo.

I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, with a focus on bridging Sports Science and Artificial Intelligence. This makes me one of the few computational sports scientists globally.

My goal is to grow this field by encouraging more researchers with similar skills, as most sports scientists lack a machine learning background. The potential for AI to enhance athletic performance is vast, but it's still underutilized in the industry. I aim to change that.

That's why I founded Olyup Technologies Inc., to push the limits of sports performance using computational methods, including AI.

Erika Robinson

Erika Robinson

Project Director, Government of Nova Scotia

Erika Robinson started her public service career the very day after White Juan decided to make Nova Scotia its personal snow globe (and she was not wearing boots). Over the last 20-plus years, she’s jumped feet first into the Departments of Health and Wellness, Justice, and the Public Service Commission – over half of that time has been at Community Services in service delivery, training and project leadership. She considers Community Services her ‘home’ and uses cross-departmental experience to ruthlessly transform systems while being unapologetically kind to people.

Known as a future-focused culture creator, environment shifter, and change agent Erika is the recipient of the 2020 OnePSC Minister’s Award for Innovation and Resourcefulness and the 2020 Minister’s Award for Engagement & Innovation, proving that even in a world of perceived bureaucracy, big ideas are possible. Erika’s academic journey is equally impressive: she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Certificate of Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University, where she not only captured the George Anderson Award for Leadership but also received the Media X Award for her outstanding contributions to Student Media. Fueled by a fascination with crafting effective group learning experiences, Erika has pursued coursework at Royal Roads University to hone her skills.
In her most ambitious endeavor yet, Erika designed and facilitated Nova Scotia’s very first social change lab for the government—a true testament to her drive for transformation. Energized by compassion, curiosity, extrovert vibes, and a healthy dose of dissatisfaction with the status quo, she embraces ambiguity like her favorite jeans.

Erika enjoys a ‘quieter’ life in Colby Village with her high school sweetheart. Together, they are kept ready for anything by one four-legged and eight two-legged family members, who continuously challenge parenting how-to manuals with questions like “if heaven is above the clouds, is it in outer space?” In her downtime, Erika can be found sipping peppermint tea, painting watercolor rainbows, and daydreaming about rural Nova Scotia where she grew up and longs to return to someday
