Our sustainability initiative

PMI Nova Scotia Chapter is committed to a sustainable future. The Chapter will offer opportunities to learn sustainable practices via educational events as well as giving back to the community. The Chapter will align its policies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This effort will assist with meeting the PMI-UN Global Compact of attaining the UN SDGs by 2030.

By ensuring our events are eco friendly (from central locations, to local food and vendors) we hope to reduce the impact of our events on the environment.

  • Removing pens and notepads from the table
  • Not using paper cups
  • Not using single-use plastic or napkins
  • A very comprehensive program for recycling and a  food waste initiative program
  • Using digital signage
  • Ordering local and seasonal when possible
  • Buying in bulk to reduce packaging
  • Reduction of bottled water ( pitchers on each table)
  • Condiments in bowls vs single use
  • Providing recycling receptacles in the meeting rooms and foyers
